VISA INFORMATION

To ensure a smooth and timely entry into South Africa, all participants are encouraged to review and follow the visa requirements outlined below. Obtaining the appropriate visa is each participant’s responsibility, and we strongly recommend beginning the application process well in advance of your planned travel. The following information provides important guidance on application procedures, documentation, and eligibility criteria to help you prepare for your visit to Cape Town.

Participants are advised to apply for a South African visa directly through the South African High Commission, Embassy, or Consulate in their country of residence.

Visa processing times vary between 4 to 6 weeks. Early application is strongly recommended.

The required application form is BI-84. Please consult the specific South African mission where you intend to apply for a full list of required supporting documents.

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of arrival in Cape Town, South Africa.

Your passport must contain a minimum of three blank pages after your arrival in South Africa.

A return or onward travel ticket is required.

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if your travel originates from or passes through a yellow fever endemic zone in Africa or South America.

An official invitation letter from the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) will be issued if visa support is selected during registration.
